What Is Meditation?

Meditation is a technique for relaxing the body, calming down the mind, releasing stress and stop worrying. Its practice leads to peace of mind and to higher awareness.

Meditation is a way of life. The aim is to slow down, and eventually stop the constant chatter of the mind.

It is a way to free the mind of unnecessary distractions and unnecessary thinking, so to obtain mental clarity.

Meditation is a state of focused attention, in its higher form, its aim is to empty the mind of thoughts and enjoy inner peace, calmness and happiness.

you do not need to make changes in your life in order to practice it. You also do not need to follow any particular religion, wear special clothes or lead a certain lifestyle.

During meditation, the mind often wanders away, that is why you must be constantly vigilant, bringing the attention back, over and again.

This of course, involves some effort at the beginning, but as you practice more and more, less effort will be necessary.

There are many meditation techniques witch all involve focusing the attention on a single subject, thought or activity, and not allowing it to move to something else.

Meditation has become popular with all types of people, including people living a busy life, and there is scientific and medical evidence of its benefits.

It is usually practiced sitting down, with eyes closed. It can also be practiced with the eyes open, and even while walking.

How does meditation benefit me?

Meditation is also a practice of self-care, that allows for a connection with the inner self. In doing so, self-esteem increases and the ability to make decisions that align with the individual’s authentic feelings and desires, and allow for better self-regulation. With regular practice of meditation:
